Maintain discipline, A.S Mene charges new NAIS leadership

The National Adviser of the National Association of Itsekiri Students, NAIS, Sir A.S Mene, has charged the newly elected leaders of NAIS to maintain decorum, be disciplined and focus more on delivering service to their fellow students as well as Iwere land.

 

Our Principal Correspondent, reports that Sir Mene gave the charge, Sunday February 4 at the National Secretariat of NAIS in Warri, Delta State, during the inauguration of the new executive of NAIS, headed by Comrade Gbubemi Ogedegbe.

The NAIS National Adviser, stressed the need for the students’ body to remain united, urging them to also concentrate on promotion of Itsekiri culture.

 

He advised members of the association to be properly guided in their activities, just as he noted that all past Presidents of NAIS, are automatic members of NAIS BoT.

 

The new President of NAIS, Comrade Gbubemi Ogedegbe, in his remarks, commended Sir A .S Mene for his fatherly role and advice.

 

He reeled out his three-point mandate to include the uplifting of the face of NAIS, by restoring her relevance, saying: “This I believe, will help to put us back in the position, which we rightfully belong and as we carry out our mandatory and invented activities, we shall once again attract the eyes of those that will help NAIS to move forward. This also we shall achieve by having a sound and proactive publicity team.”

 

Ogedegbe added: “We will ignite the interest of our members and Itsekiri youths in general in the affairs of our culture, tradition and territorial sovereignty, as we aim to build a formidable relationship with Aghofen and everything that is connected to His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III and the kingdom in general.

 

“Lastly, I made it known that one of my missions, is to build our input and relevance as it relates to the political atmosphere of our local government, state government and God willing, our federal government. As we shall strive to request for the benefits that is due to us as students and also getting an assurance of opportunities for our graduates".

In his goodwill message, Delta State Commissioner for Youth Development, Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, charged the students to sustain unity and hardwork, encouraging them to display high determination in their studies.

 

Comrade Agbateyiniro, assured the students of support, saying this is the first time a former NAIS President, is serving as Commissioner for Youth Development in Delta State.

 

The President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, Comrade Ben Eburajolo, advised the NAIS leadership to be active and work in unity, in order to move the association forward.
