The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the kidnapped of two Abuja-bound bus passengers in Kogi State.
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer SP William Ovye Aya, confirmed this in a statement made available to Journalists on Monday.
It was reliably gathered that, the incident happened on Saturday at Inele-Eteke Ogugu new road in Kogi East Senatorial district in the state.
It was further learnt that, the incident happened at about 7:30 on Saturday when God is Good (GIG) and ABC transport buses were heading to Abuja before suspected kidnappers intercepted them and whisked the passengers to an unknown destination.
Aya, who could not ascertain the actual numbers of passengers kidnapped during the incident said the Divisional Police Officer, (DPO) Local Vigilantes, and Hunters have been in the bush in an effort to rescue the kidnapped victims.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Bethrand Onuoha, has deployed an additional Tactical Squad consisting of Quick Response Unit, Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, as well as conventional Police personnel to the area to continue with the bush combing and ensure all victims are rescued unhurt.
