Delta LG Poll: Fielding candidates with evidence of victory at units, wards in past elections, opportunity for PDP to reclaim its dominance of Warri South - Eboh
Mr. Elvis Okpako Eboh

Pioneer Chairman of College of Local Government Supervisors in Delta state, Mr. Elvis Okpako Eboh, has advised the leadership of PDP to give priority to grassroots leaders, who won their units and wards for PDP in Warri South Local Government Area during the last general elections, when electing chairmanship and councillorship candidates for the forthcoming July 13 local government poll.

Eboh, who opined that electing a PDP Chairmanship candidate and councillorship flagbearers with such pedigree, would facilitate PDP's resolve to regain absolute control of the political space in Warri South and win back Warri South Constituency II in the 2027 general elections.

He posited that the era of rewarding party members based on past glory, was over, " considering the current political realities before us, as a party."

The two - time Supervisor for Youth, Sports and Community Development in Warri South Local Government Council, who has consistently delivered his unit, surrounding units and ward in the last general elections for PDP in Okere - Urhobo, Warri, despite the strong showing of APC and Labour Party, particularly in the 2023 election, refused to be dragged into making commitment as to whether or not, he is aspiring for any elective position ahead of the July 13 LG Poll.

Eboh, who spoke exclusively to Fresh Angle International Sunday May 6 in a telephone interview, asserted that it was also imperative for PDP to elect a young, vibrant and intellectually sound person as its next state party chairman.

According to him, such individual, would be able to perfectly bridge the gap between the older and youthful population, " whilst innovating ideas that would redirect the course of PDP in the state, strengthen the party's grip and neutralise the pockets of opposition political parties."
