Countdown to Delta LG Poll: Oghomienor unveils his agenda for Warri South

Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party and seasoned entrepreneur, Mr. Emiko Oghomienor, has unveiled his agenda for Warri South Local Government Area, if given the mandate to pilot affairs of the Council in the July 13 Delta State local government election.

Our Senior Roving Correspondent, reports that Mr. Oghomienor, dropped the hint of his plans for Warri South Saturday May 11 at the Warri South PDP secretariat in Warri, when he formally declared his intention to contest for the Warri South Chairmanship seat.                                    

He told the gathering of Warri South PDP leaders and supporters: "I had my primary and secondary school education in Warri and also a BSC in Political Science from Delta State University.

"I have been a committed and faithful PDP member since the inception of Democracy in Nigeria (1999) and have served as a Ward Chairman. 

"With my experience from private sector,I believe I will be able to contribute a lot more to our people 

He highlighted some areas of priority for him when elected as Chairman as security, education, health care and economic growth of Warri South.

“I promise to make Warri South safe, by providing security for all to do business, in order to revamp the economy of the city. People should be able to go about their businesses without fear. 

“We shall work closely with companies in Warri to boost the Internally Generated Revenue of the Local Government, and assist small businesses with grants. 

“Also top on my list is education, we will ensure that teachers are paid as and when due, we will rehabilitate our classroom to give our children befitting learning environments, “ he added.

Oghomienor, promised to upgrade the health centers in Warri South to give the people better and affordable health care.

Responding, Warri South PDP Chairman, Mr. Johnson Agbeyegbe assured Mr. Emiko Oghomienor of their support, saying he has no fear in Oghomienor's capabilities. 

“I have known him for a long time now as my former Ward Chairman, he has the experience because he has been in the business. 

Mr. Agbeyegbe urged him not to relent as they go around in consultation, while praying for Oghomienor and his team, as they embark on their campaign journey. 

Mr. Friday Idiobara and Hon. Richard Pessu PRO PDP Warri South, are some party members who spoke in support of Mr. Emiko Oghomienor’s declaration. They urged party members to support him, because he would listen to the needs of the people.
