Feelers reaching Fresh Angle International say, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, this afternoon, Friday May 17, picked Delta State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Weyinmi Isaac Agbateyiniro, as PDP Chairmanship candidate for Warri South Local Government Area, directing Mr. Agbateyiniro to resign his appointment as Commissioner.
A prominent Warri Urhobo PDP leader, who disclosed the development to Fresh Angle International on phone few minutes ago on condition of anonymity, declared that Urhobo PDP leaders will not accept the candidacy of Mr. Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, particularly because none of the Warri Urhobo PDP leaders, attended the meeting at Asaba today, where the decision to adopt the candidacy of Agbateyiniro was taken.
According to the Warri Urhobo PDP Chieftain, Urhobo PDP leaders in Warri, were not invited for the meeting, whereas their Itsekiri counterparts, such as Chief (Dr.) Joseph Otumara and Hon. Omimi Esquire, were present.
This Soaring International Tabloid had reported this morning that despite reports that the immediate past Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, endorsed the aspiration of Barr. Esimaje Vincent Awani and equally pushed same to the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, other Warri South Local Government Chairmanship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party and their backers, have intensified lobby to alter the equation.
