Following the decision by Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to pick the State Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Weyinmi Isaac Agbateyiniro as the Warri South PDP Chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming July 13 Delta State local government election, focus has shifted to who replaces Agbateyiniro as Commissioner in the state executive council.
Recall that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, reportedly instructed Mr. Weyinmi Agbateyiniro to immediately resign his position as the State Commissioner for Youth Development, to enable him contest for the Warri South Chairmanship seat.
Agbateyiniro, who wasn't among the over ten Warri South Chairmanship aspirants before yesterday, was appointed Commissioner from Warri South Local Government Area, in - line with the constitutional provision which gives each local government area the entitlement of a Commissioner - slot.
Whilst Governor Oborevwori 's decision to pick Mr. Agbateyiniro as Warri South PDP Chairmanship candidate shocked the hitherto chairmanship aspirants and their backers, their attention has shifted to who becomes the new Commissioner from Warri South.
Findings by This Flagship Niger Delta Online Newspaper, revealed that PDP leaders of Itsekiri and Urhobo extractions in Warri South Local Government, have begun lobbying for Agbateyiniro's replacement.
Warri Urhobo PDP leaders, may have started shopping for who becomes running mate (Vice Chairmanship Candidate) to Mr. Weyinmi Agbateyiniro.
