Members of Peoples Democratic Party Grassroots Coalition, have commended political leaders in Warri North for the reported adoption of Hon. Festus Ashima as Warri North PDP Chairmanship candidate in the incoming July 13 local government election.
The commendation, was contained in a statement released this evening, Saturday May 18 by the National Coordinator of Peoples Democratic Party Grassroots Coalition, Edema Collins Oritsetimeyin.
The statement reads: "The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Grassroots Coalition wish to commend the political leaders in Warri North for the adoption of Hon. Festus Ashima as the Chairmanship Candidate of the PDP in Warri North Local Government Area in the forthcoming Local Government Elections in Delta State.
"We wish to state that as critical stakeholders of the PDP in Nigeria, Delta State, and Warri Federal Constituency in particular, the choice of Hon. Festus Ashima is a square peg in a square hole.
"We wish to strongly commend all the leaders who took part in making this historic decision.
"We want to appeal to other aspirants to accept the decision of the party leaders and rally round Hon. Festus Ashima to take Warri North from where it is right now and make it one of the best tourist destinations in Nigeria."
