Nortreus looks into Dominican's constitution reform; seeks nationality change

On Friday, Werley Nortreus, once a very active Haitian politician engaged in politics in Haiti currently seeking foreign nationality, said that he is aware of the Dominican Republic's constitution reform and he is watching it very closely as he hopes to submit propositions if accepted.

The news about the constitution reform in the Dominican Republic comes after the news media reported it. The Legal Consultant of the Executive Branch of the Dominican Republic, Antoliano Peralta, stated that the reform of the constitutional text will focus on two key aspects: the limitation of presidential re-election and the independence of the Public Ministry.

Nortreus gives his opinions about it and says he is watching the reform very closely while he's seeking nationality change and he is looking forward to submitting propositions if accepted by the Dominican Republic Government. One of his ideas is to make it possible for naturalized citizens to hold executive and legislative powers. He also says his propositions won't be easy to accept but says the idea is a good idea that will be useful to all Dominican citizens.

"I want to be useful to nations that value youths who are doing positive things. I want to use my talents, potential, and skills to help grow nations that know how to value, cherish, and support youths doing positive things. Just because I was born and raised in Haiti, that doesn't mean I hate Haiti if seeking nationality change. I am currently seeking nationality change because I will not allow my talents, potential, and skills to go to waste in toxic environments. If I ever change my nationality soon, my new nationality should be Russian, France, a country in Africa, or the Dominican Republic", Nortreus says Friday about this important matter.

During an interview in the “Cátedra Jurídica” space, Peralta specified that one of the main objectives is to make “almost impossible” the modification of article 124 of the Magna Carta, which regulates the presidential appointment.

Peralta said that the Dominican president, Luis Abinader, instructed the Consultancy to work on a project to change the Constitution that seeks a way, within the legal framework, so that the transformation of Article 124 is almost impossible.

Nortreus also says when it comes to nationality change as he's currently seeking it, he already has a preference. He says he's interested in Russia, France, a country in Africa, or the Dominican Republic.
