The Head of Environment Department in Warri South Local Government Council, Mrs. Stella O. Mode, says the company purportedly responsible for the destruction of a section of the kerb, along the NPA Expressway, after the Ogunu Flyover in Warri, Delta State, Zukus Nigeria Limited, has expressed desire to settle out-of-court.
Mrs. Mode, who is a Director, Environment Health Officer, in the Local Government Service of Delta State, told Fresh Angle International, yesterday, Tuesday June 18, that repair work being carried out by Zukus Nigeria Limited, on the damaged kerb, was at 70% completion stage.
Recall that a court, Warri Magisterial II District, summoned Zukus Nigeria Limited, to appear before it, July 2, 2024, over alleged failure to comply with the terms of an Abatement Notice served on it by authorities of Warri South Local Government Council.
The writ, stated in parts: “To the owner/occupier, new developed yard of NPA Express, beside Lee Engineering Yard, complaint has been made this day by Environmental Health Officer, Warri South Local Government Council, for that you on the 12th day of June 2024 at the above address in the Warri Magisterial 2 district, aforesaid, did fail to comply with the terms of an Abatement Notice No 2008 served on you on the 7th day of June 2024.
“You are therefore hereby summoned to appear before the Chief Magistrate court sitting at Warri, by ‘A’ Division, Warri on the 2nd day of July 2024.”
