Ogbe-Ijoh, Aladja, Isaba Crisis: Don’t tamper with relics, Delta CP warns

Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Zanna M. Ibrahim has warned against tampering with relics such as shrines and graveyards in the disputed land bordering Ogbe-Ijoh, Aladja and Isaba Communities in Warri South-West and Udu Local Government Areas, Fresh Angle International can report.

He handed down the warning to the Site Engineer when he visited Police Officers and Men detailed to ensure peace as well as security in the disputed territory.

The Police Boss spoke against the backdrop of a recommendation by the Delta State Security Council that the State Government should compulsorily acquire the disputed land in-line with the 1978 Land Use Act.

The State Security Council also recommended the immediate clearing of bushes in the disputed land, even as CP Ibrahim ordered that the remaining portions of the bushes be cleared, to prevent hoodlums from the warring communities from having hiding place.

According to CP Ibrahim, the bushes have made it possible for hoodlums to lay ambush and wreck further havoc on innocent persons.

The lingering crisis between the neighbouring Ogbe-Ijoh as well as Isaba communities in Warri South-West Local Government Area on one hand and Aladja Community in Udu Local Government Area on the other hand, have led to the destruction of lives and properties, while staffers of Warri South-West Local Government Council presently carry out their administrative duties in Warri South Local Government Council Main Secretariat in Warri.
