Abinu bags Philanthropist community developer award


In view of his immense contributions to humanity, Amb. Gabriel Abinu has bagged an award of Philanthropist and community developer par excellence in Kogi State.

 

The award was given to him on Friday in Lokoja by the Police Campaign against cultism and Other Vices, POCACOV, Kogi State chapter.

 

Speaking at the event which was attended by prominent members of Lokoja club 1901, top personalities, the Kogi State Chairman of POCACOV Austine Alaba Medaiyedu described the Oman based Philanthropist as a pacesetter who has continued to touch the lives of many in the Country.

 

According to him, the award given to Amb. Abinu is to boost his morale to do more for humanity, adding that, the body has been monitoring his selfless service within and outside the State.

 

He argued that, "Amb. Gabriel Abinu is one individual who has distinguished himself by hard work and in appreciating him and his contributions to humanity particularly providing water around this environment is for us to say a big thank you and for him to do more.

 

"This great ambassador is not even aware that we are coming to give him this award or know if we exist. We are watching his footsteps. That is why if you are doing good just continue. Some how, somewhere, people are watching. Amb. Gabriel, you have made us proud.

 

" We are ready to partner with your Non-Governmental Organization so that we can together fight cultism and other vices in Kogi State. Whatever we are doing here now has the authority of the inspector general of Police Mr. Kayode Egbetoku.

 

Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that Medaiyedu charged the award recipient to continue his good work for the people noting that he should not be distracted in serving the State.

 

 

He used the opportunity to intimate the public what their association is doing to curb cultism and other criminal activities in Kogi State. 

 

"The Police Campaign against cultism and other Vices, POCACOV, is an initiative of the Nigeria Police force to fight criminalities particularly cultism and other vices like internet fraud, examination malpractice, violence against Women, domestic violence drug abuse and many more.

 

" We have the platform across the 36 states of the federation. It is a community initiative. We felt that if we want to fight against cultism and other social vices like we mentioned, we must appreciate those that are role model to our Youths. Amb. Abinu has carved a nitch for himself and deserves all the accolades he is receiving across board"

 

Receiving the award, Amb. Gabriel Abinu noted that the recognition from POCACOV is a wake up call to do more for humanity adding that, he remains committed to touch the lives of the people positively down to the grassroots.

 

"Words alone can not quantify my appreciate to this revered association. I never knew that there are people who is painstakingly watching the little am doing for our people. For me, this is the time to say a be thank you to everyone who has given their support to get to where I am today. I promised not to disappoint them. 

 

"This award as I said earlier means alot for me as it will further spore my foundation to do more for our people. It is important to state here emphatically that giving back to the people should be inculcated by everyone on earth. When you touch the life of people with the little you have, almighty Allah will always bless and provide more for you"

 

He promised to partner with the organization to reduce cultism, crime and criminalities in Kogi State.

 

" Cultism is a cankerworm that has eaten deep into the fabrics of our youths today. It is unfortunate that some of our youths that are supposed to be productive and useful to our society turns themselves to be a menace.

 

" What they fail to understand here is that joining cultism and engaging in armed robbery, kidnapping, internet fraud will not help them but rather it will destroy their lives completely. To reduce this menace in this modern society, all hands must be on deck to fight this scourge which remains a big threat to our existence as human being.

 

"As a sports enthusiast, I will keep advocating for massively investment in sport to reduce crime in our Country. When youths are engaged in various sporting activities, they won't have the time to think of committing crime. Let us borrow a leaf from great Countries like United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, United States of America, Brazil, Argentina, and many more. This nations are doing well in international competitions.

 

" They are achieving success because of the huge investment in sports by their government. This is one of the reasons they are recording low crime rate. I am optimistic that one day, Nigeria will get there. Coach Gabriel Abinu foundation is ready to partner with the Police Campaign against cultism and other Social Vices, (POCACOV) in reducing crimes and criminalities in Kogi State" he added.

 

 

It could recalled that Amb. Abinu recently paid JAMB fee for over 50 people in Kogi State, sank bore hole for Lokongoma and Angwan Tiv community in new layout Lokoja, to cushion the effects of water scarcity within Lokoja metropolis.
