Supreme Court judgment on financial autonomy for LGCs, will reduce insecurity challenges  - Chief Emami, avers

A leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State, Chief Ayirimi Emami, says the judgment of Supreme Court, which grants financial autonomy to local government councils, LGCs in Nigeria, will reduce the challenges of insecurity in the country.                       

 

Our Senior Roving Correspondent, reports that Chief Emami, made the assertion today, Thursday July 11, while addressing a large gathering of APC supporters at Ogunu, Warri.                    

 

He declared: " I am satisfied with the Supreme Court's decision to grant financial autonomy to local governments. This will help reduce insecurity in the state. We urge the government to provide full autonomy to local governments."

He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership for granting financial autonomy to local governments.

 

President Bola Tinubu's decision to grant financial autonomy to local governments represents a significant achievement. This development will facilitate the effective functioning of the three arms of government. Additionally, it is expected that INEC will soon assume the responsibility of conducting elections at the local government level.

 

He urged all residents to participate in the upcoming election by voting for Prince Francis Yonwuren and all APC candidates. "Everyone must come out en masse on Saturday to exercise their right to vote," he said

 

Earlier, the Local Government Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Francis Yonwuren, went around different wards to campaign and woo electorates for the forthcoming July 13th local government elections.

 

Prince Yonwuren, his Vice Chairmanship candidate, Pastor Kinsley Omonigho, and their team commenced the ward-to-ward campaign from Agbarah-Warri and proceeded to Ekurude Urhobo, Ogunu, and Ugbuwangue. The APC councillorship candidates, Hon. Paul Ojegba of Bowen Ward and Hon. Tejiri Okorefe, of Ogunu and Ekurede Urhobo ward were presented to supporters.
