INEC, security personnel, collaborating with our ethnic neighbours to grab our land – APC stalwart, Ajofotan tells FG

Stalwart of the All Progressives Congress APC, in Warri Federal Constituency, Comrade Ajofotan Omagbemi Jonathan, has called President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevowri, to intervene in the growing controversy over ward/unit delineation in the three Warri Local Government Areas, alleging that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, military men and Tantita Security, are collaborating with neighbouring Urhobos and Ijaws, to grab Itsekiri land with impunity.

Comrade Ajofotan, who is the Secretary of Itsekiri Liberation Group, ILG, made the allegation in a statement sent to Fresh Angle International, in the wee hours of today, Saturday July 13.

He declared: “The Federal Government needs to swiftly caution our tenants (Urhobos and Ijaws) in the Warri Federal Constituency to stop their lawlessness and uncouth way of trying to illegally grab our land, with impunity, by using state apparatus such as INEC, Military men and private security company, Tantita.

“You have a Supreme Court judgement to implement, in doing that you must obey all other Supreme Court judgements in Warri Federal Constituency, with regards to ownership of land and other relevant judgement/documents applicable in unit or ward delineation in Nigeria, because he who comes to equity, must come with clean hands,

“There must be total and not selective implementation of court judgement in Warri Federal Constituency, and this brings to my mind the Maritime University Okerenghigho, Warri South- West Local Government headquarters, Ogidigben and ten ward judgement in Warri South Local Government, just to mention a few.

“We, the Itsekiris are particularly happy that the rule of law and the fact that court judgement is coming to fruition in Warri Federal Constituency and by extension, Nigeria. This must be done in-line with facts and proven documents, not with intimidation, threat, outright lawlessness, financial inducement and unnecessary rascality.

“To avoid the breakdown of public peace, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, must do the needful, by caution those trying to name a child they did not give birth to.”
