The PDP Chairmanship candidate for Warri South Local Government Area, Mr. Weyinmi Isaac Agbateyiniro, has expressed confidence that he will emerge victorious in the Delta State Local Government election, held today, Saturday July 13, hinging his optimism on the “performance of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the quality of PDP candidates at the poll.”

Mr. Agbateyiniro, who made the declaration, shortly after casting his ballot at Unit 3, Ward 13 in Orere-Uluba Community, Warri South Local Government Area, said: “From my very subjective point of view, DSIEC complied with the law in the conduct of the exercise. The orderliness by which materials were distributed, the orderliness with which people were queuing to be accredited and also queuing to vote, has been very impressive.”

The Warri South Chairmanship hopeful, who was received in a festive mood at Orere-Uluba, explained while briefing newsmen: “Of-course you would have seen how my party, the Peoples Democratic Party, took the ward-to-ward campaign very religiously.

There was hardly any nook and cranny in the Warri South Local Government Area, we did not take the campaign to, either collectively or individually.

“It has been amazing, the extent of acceptability of our party by the electorates, speaks for itself. This of course, is essentially as a result of the performance of our Governor (Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori) in all ramifications. We do not need to be told what the governor has done, in terms of bringing in Julius Berger, also in less than 6months in office, nothing less than 3,000 youths were employed as teaching and non-teaching staff. He paid arrears of salaries and many more to mention. All of these combined, factored in the acceptability of our party across the state, particularly in Warri South.

“The quality of candidates that our party produced. The Chairmanship candidate and the choice of running mate (vice chairmanship candidate) and the councillorship candidates, are among the best in their various wards and at the local government level.”
