The eminent scholars, include; Prof. Steven F. Koch, Prof. Harold Ngalawa, Prof. Siong Hook Law, Prof. Shoba Nelasco, Prof. Gerhard Berchtold and Prof. Cletus Chukwu.

The Vice Chancellor of Dominican University Ibadan, Prof Jacinta A. Opara, in a letter dated July 26 and titled, ‘Visiting Professorship Programme’, noted: “Dominican University, Ibadan-Nigeria places emphasis on partnerships, advancement and other forms of engagement. We welcome scholars, researchers and other professionals from other institutions who visit our university to teach, lecture, or perform research.

“Visiting scholars may stay for a couple of weeks, months or even a year. Typically, a visiting scholar is invited by our institution, such an invitation is often regarded as recognizing the scholar's prominence in the field. Attracting prominent visiting scholars often allows the management, permanent faculty and graduate students to cooperate with prominent academics from other institutions, especially foreign ones.

“The major goal of our visiting scholar’s programs is generally to bring to the university an exceptional senior scholar who can contribute to the community's intellectual and research endeavors and international projection. Hence, in addition to conducting their own research, visitors are often expected to participate in productive institutional activities, such as:

? Deliver a formal lecture

? Engage in discussions with undergraduate or postgraduate students

? Undertake collaborative research with staff

? Present faculty seminars

? Present a paper as part of the university's Public Lecture Series

“We cannot thank them enough for their willingness to be associated with us. Their presence at

Dominican University, would be a great honour and an exceptional opportunity in contributing to the enrichment of our academic environment.”
