Guinness Nigeria Plc says it has responded to a court process at the instance of PharmaDeko Plc which alleged that Guinness Nigeria is contractually indebted to PharmaDeko Plc in the sum of N175, 699, 317.99, representing an arbitral award made against the company in favour of PharmaDeko.
In a statement made available to Fresh Angle International, Friday February 17, Guinness Nigeria debunked allegation that it is indebted to PharmaDeko, saying its solicitors have filed a robust defence to PharmaDeko’s claims in court.
According to the brewery giant, Guinness, the amount claimed by PharmaDeko in the court process is an insignificant amount when compared with its revenue, cash-flow and balance sheet.
The statement added, “the management of Guinness Nigeria wishes to assure its employees, customers, shareholders and other stakeholders that it is capable of meeting its financial and other obligations to its various stakeholders and that it continues to operate as a going concern.”
