The Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Olorogun Jaro Movudu Egbo, has announced further downward review of lock up stalls in Ughelli Foodstuff/Goods Market from N48,000.00 (Forty Eight Thousand Naira) per annum to N12,000.00 (Twelve Thousand Naira).
Fresh Angle International understands that the reduction, was sequel to a letter of appeal from the leadership of the Ughelli Foodstuff & Goods Market as well as the dialogue held earlier today, Friday August 9, between the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Olorogun Egbo and the leadership of the traders ' association.
Our Ughelli North Bureau Chief, reports that the reduction, was contained in a letter dated August 9 and addressed to the Chairman of Ughelli Foodstuff/Goods Market.
The letter, which was signed by the Head of Personnel Management of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Ase Timothy R.E. on behalf of the Ughelli North Local Government Boss, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, noted inter-alai: “Henceforth any reconstruction/ conversion of 2 or more stalls to a single store, is hereby prohibited;
“The EXCO should co-operate with the Local Government to ensure proper numbering of all the market stalls to ascertain the total numbers of the shops in the market.
“The market women should also co-operate with the council in her efforts to expand the numbers of stores in some section of the market.
“The Council frowns at arbitrary sub-lease of allocated stalls to beneficiaries. Any breach of this clause may result in the loss of such Stalls)/Shop(s) by such defaulters.”
