Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comr. Weyinmi Isaac Agbateyiniro, on Thursday August 15, began moves to confront double-digit inflation, with the presentation of an ambitious 2024 supplementary budget to Warri South Local Government Council Legislative Arm.
The fiscal estimate, which comprises 46.6 percent recurrent expenditure (consolidated revenue fund charges, personnel cost and overhead cost) and 53.4 percent capital vote, encapsulates the MORE Grace Agenda of the Agbateyiniro administration, cutting across growth and development, radical rural transformation, Agricultural revolution, commerce and industrialization as well as enhancement of peace and security.

The Warri South Local Government Boss, gave the breakdown of the recurrent and capital expenditures, thus: “Five Billion, Seven Hundred and Ninety-Three Million, one Hundred and Eighty-three Thousand, Six Hundred and Sixty-Seven Naira, thirty-five kobo (N5,793,183,667.35) and Six Billion, Six Hundred and Thirty-nine Million, Four Hundred and Eighty Thousand, Two Hundred and Ninety-two Naira, Forty-one kobo (N6,639,480,292.41)” respectively.
Comr. Agbateyiniro, explained in parts: “The reasons for the increment are due to the hyper-inflation experience in our present-day economy and the introduction of new viable projects in this More Grace Agenda, to Meet up with the MORE Agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State, by spreading the More Grace Agenda to the good people of Warri South Local government Area, Warri.”
The Leader of the Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon. Joy Ejumudo, assured Hon. Agbateyiniro, that the budget proposal would be given speedy consideration and subsequent approval.

The Vice Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Kingsley Edafiadjebre, the SLG designate of Warri South Local Government, Mr. Emmanuel Nunu, Supervisors of the Council and the new Warri South PDP Chairman, Hon. Richard Pessu, were among dignitaries present during the budget presentation.
