The week-long celebration of the 3rd coronation anniversary of The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, will commence by 11:00 am on Monday August 19 with praise and worship at Palace Church, Aghofen in Warri, Delta State.
The colourful ceremony, expected to feature the traditional paying of homage to the reverred Monarch, play presentation, novelty football match as well as presentation of music and poetry concert, will be rounded off Sunday August 25, with Thanksgiving Service at Palace Church ( Aghofen) Warri by 11:00 am.
Detailed outline of the week-long event is as follows:
Day 1: Monday, 19 August- Praise and Worship, Palace Church, Aghofen 11:00am.
Day 2: Tuesday, 20 August - Homage/Anniversary Lecture, Palace Auditorium, Aghofen 12:00pm.
Day 3: Wednesday, 21 August - Anniversary/ Homage paying Palace Auditorium, Aghofen 11:00am.
Day 4: Thursday, 22 August - (a) take of to Big Warri (Warri boat yard) 10:00am
(b) Homage Paying Ode-Itsekiri (Big Hall) 12 noon (c) play presentation- Ode-Itsekiri (Big Hall) 6:00pm.
Day 5: Friday, 23 August - (a) Novelty match- organized by Olori-Ladies - Ode-Itsekiri (FLFA) (training ground) 9:00am
(b) Homage Paying- Ode-Itsekiri (Big Hall) 12noon
Day 6: Saturday, 24 August -Award to distinguished Itsekiris- Palace Auditorium Aghofen 12noon
Presentation of music and poetry concert for His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III by Royal Iwere Choir- Palace Church (Aghofen) 5:00pm.
Day 7: Sunday, 25 August -Thanksgiving Service Palace Church (Aghofen) 11:00am.
