Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III decorates Vanguard Publisher, Amuka, Pinnick, eight others with Royal Order of Iwere awards


The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III today decorated renowned Journalist and Publisher of Vanguard Newspaper, Mr. Sam Oruru Amuka-Pemu, OON, Nigeria's representative in FIFA Council, Mr. Pinnick Melvin Amaju and eight other Itsekiri sons and daughters with the Royal Order of Iwere,ROI for their contributions to the development of Warri Kingdom and Nigeria in particular.

Fresh Angle International can report that others who  bagged the award include, Engr. Felix Omatsola FNSE, Mr. Ade Mabo,Mr. Julius Dediare Rone, OFR, Mr. Alfred Temile, Dr (Mrs.) Ajorutsedere Awosiks, OON, MFR, MNI, Master Eworitsewarami Justin Wilbert, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan and Mr. Misan Harriman.

The reverred Monarch personally decorated the recipients one after the other with awards, courtesy of the Royal Iwere Society.

In his acceptance speech, Uncle Sam Amuka - Pemu, noted that it's God Almighty that gave the monarch the throne and He is also the one directing his steps. He thanked the monarch for the honour done him 

In his acceptance speech,Mr. Amaju who could not hide his joy,thanked the monarch for the honour done. "Your Majesty, this is a very big honour. I want to thank you," he enthused. 

Another recipient, Mr. Ade Mabo, also thanked the monarch and urged other Itsekiris to help develop  Warri Kingdom. 

On his part, Mr. Julius Dediare Rone, OFR, a recipient thanked the Olu of Warri Kingdom for finding him worthy and decorating him with the award. 

"I have been honoured all over the world, but this is the best award I have ever received," he said .                  

He pledged his allegiance to the monarch and the throne and prayed that his reign bring development and greater things to Warri Kingdom.
