Prof. Opara to be decorated OWSD South-West Life Member

The Vice Chancellor of Dominican University, Ibadan in Oyo State, Professor Jacinta Opara, will be decorated today, Wednesday September 4, as Life Member of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World, OWSD South-West.

Fresh Angle International, understands that the honour on Prof. Opara, which is in recognition of her outstanding track record and eminence in research, will highlight the opening ceremony of the Maiden Edition of the Organization For Women In Science For The Developing World (OWSD) South-West Conference holding at University of Ibadan, Faculty of Science Lakeside Lecture Theatre, from September 3 – 6.

The maiden OWSD Southwest Conference is being hosted by OWSD Ibadan Branch and will be a hybrid conference with both physical and virtual attendees.

The conference will serve as a forum for interdisciplinary exchange and cross fertilization of research concepts ad contexts among OWSD members and non-members in Nigeria for addressing sustainability in research from diverse fields.

The theme for this year’s conference is: Women in Science: Sustaining the Future through Education, Innovation and Technology. The subthemes have been carefully selected as follows: “
