Supplementary Budget:Warri South Legislative Arm refutes criticism of pseudo Facebook account

                                             
The Legislative Arm of Warri South Local Government Council, has refuted   post  of a pseudo Facebook account, which claimed that the Executive Arm of the Council, jacked up the Council's 2024 supplementary budget from N4 billion to N6 billion.                                           

The Legislative Arm in a statement released Monday September 9, noted that the supplementary budget estimate of six billion, one hundred and sixty five million, seven hundred and forty thousand, six hundred and fifty four naira,  eighty seven kobo ( N 6, 165,740,654,87k)  was duly passed after thorough deliberation and scrutiny by members of the House.                              

The statement, which was signed by the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon. Jolomi Ojighoro, averred: " The  business of the hallowed chamber,  is too serious for pedestrian scrutiny. Lies told, if allowed to remain uncorrected, may be misconstrued to be fact, hence, it becomes necessary to set the records straight and shame all those masquerading behind these unsubstantiated claims."                            

The Council's Legislative Arm, emphasized: " We want to categorically refute these false claims and set the record straight. The supplementary budget estimate of 6,165,740,654.87k (six billion, one hundred and sixty five million, seven hundred and forty thousand, six hundred and fifty four naira, eighty seven kobo) was passed after thorough scrutiny and deliberation by the house committee  on finance and appropriation and later moved to the committee of the whole House to ensure transparency and accountability.

"We reject the baseless allegations and misinformation spread by this faceless online avatar to misinformed the general public especially the good people of Warri South. 

"While We want to assure the public that the Legislative Arm will continue to perform its oversight functions to ensure good governance and accountability, we equally want the Warri South people to know that the Executive and Legislative Arm of the Council are working harmoniously to implement the budget for the benefit of our people. "
