The Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government, Dr. Lucky Avweromre, has charged the newly sworn-in Secretary to the Local Government, Chief John Ewenede to demonstrate exceptional leadership, integrity, dedication and prioritize the interest of the Council.
Our Ughelli South Bureau Chief, reports that the Council Boss, gave the charge yesterday, Tuesday September 17, at the Exco Chambers of the Council Secretariat in Otu-Jeremi, while swearing in Chief Ewenede as the Council’s SLG.
While congratulating the newly sworn in Scribe, Dr Avweromre urged him to work in synergy with both the executive, legislature and staff of the Council, toward building a more prosperous and harmonious Ughelli South Local Government.
Dr Avweromre, noted that in a bid to align with the M O R E Agenda of the State Government, his administration fashioned out a four point agenda of peace and security, unity, innovation and infrastructural development.
The Chairman, who recounted that he has had a good working relationship with Chief Ewenede, stated that they worked together in 1999 as Leader of the House and Supervisor for Education, respectively.
He enjoined him to bring his wealth of experience to bare in this new assignment and work closely with the team on ground, stakeholders and the community, to actualize a greater Ughelli South.
In his response, Chief John Ewenede, thanked Dr. Avweromre, his team and the people of Ughelli South for finding him worthy to serve in the capacity of the Secretary to the Local Government.
He promised to carry out his duty without fear or favour, according to the stipulated laws and also respect constituted authority, while working in synergy with other members of the council executive and legislature, to move the local government area forward.

The Head of Personnel Management of Ughelli South Local Government Council, HPM, Chief Austin Emaduku, the HoD Legal, Barr. (Mrs.) Lucky Ovuede and some PDP leaders in the area, also attended the ceremony.
