Warri South Council to profile, train vigilantes, anti-cult volunteers

Warri South Local Government Council, in collaboration with the Police Area Command, Warri, will on Tuesday October 1, commence the profiling of members of Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN and anti-cult volunteers, operating in Warri South Local Government Area.

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comrade Weyinmi Isaac Agbateyiniro, made the disclosure Monday September 30 at the Police Area Command in Warri, Delta State, white flagging off the profiling exercise.

The Warri South Local Government Chief Security Officer, noted that profiling of the local vigilantes and anti-cult volunteers, will be followed with the training of the personnel and organization of town hall stakeholders ' meeting, to enable the people of Warri South familiarize with the vigilantes and anti-cult volunteers.

Whilst commending the local security volunteers for "contributing significantly to the security of lives and property of people in Warri South, by complementing the security agencies," Comrade Agbateyiniro, emphasized that the ongoing cleanup and beautification of Warri South by his administration, will be sustained to make the Council area a tourists haven and attract more local and foreign investments.

In his opening remarks, the 2 IC to the Area Commander of Nigerian Police Force, Warri, Eredi P.P, described security as a collective business.

He urged the vigilantes and anti-cult volunteers, to support the Warri South Local Government Chairman, saying the Council Boss wants to co-opt the local vigilantes in policing the area.

Fresh Angle International can report that the profiling exercise is expected to run for the remaining part of this week, while the training will commence Monday October 7 and the stakeholders ' meeting, will hold the following week.
