Warri South Local Government Council, has given owners of cattle straying along the NPA Expressway, by the Ugbuwangue axis of Warri, seven days to remove their livestock.

Our Senior Roving Correspondent, reports that the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comr. Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, handed down the ultimatum Monday September 30 at the Ugbuwangue Youth Secretariat in Warri, Delta State.

Fresh Angle International, understands that the warning, is to enable the Council commence planting of ornamental plants, as part of plans to brand Warri South Local Government Area and open it up for local and foreign investments.

The Warri South Council Boss, who was represented by the Head, Sub-Committee on Waste Management and Illegal Packing of Vehicles, Warri Brand Committee, Comr. Destiny Noritsegho, disclosed: “We want to commence planting of ornament plants along the median of NPA Express Road, we don’t want your stray cattle to destroy them, hence we are calling on farmers (owners) to properly ranch their livestock.

“Failure to comply with the ultimatum, will have the cattle confiscated by the community.”

Another member of the Warri Brand Committee, Hon. David Oki, appealed to the farmers to support the developmental strides of Comr. Weyinmi Agateyinirio’s administration, by adhering to the directive.

A cattle farmer, Mr. Nathaniel Irone, in his response, commended the Warri South Chairman, for his efforts in transforming Warri and pleaded with the committee to give them a minimum of two weeks, to find suitable location for the cattle.

He begged Comr. Agbateyiniro to give them a plot of land, to mitigate the challenges of raring cattle in an urban area.

The Chairman of Ugbuwangue Youth, Prince Blacky Yonwuren, who facilitated the meeting, assisted in collecting data of the cattle farmers.
