Egbo outlines role of teachers in Nation - building

Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area in Delta State, Olorogun (Barr.) Jaro Movudu Egbo, says teachers play vital role in shaping the future of children and ultimately contribute to nation - building.                                           

 

Our Ughelli North Bureau Chief, reports that Olorogun Egbo, made the assertion in a goodwill message to felicitate teachers around the world, particularly those in Ughelli North, on the celebration of this year's World Teachers ' Day.             

 

In a statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Efe Ekete, and made available to newsmen, Olorogun Egbo expressed his deep appreciation for the vital role teachers play in shaping the future of children and contributing to nation-building. 

 

He emphasized that teachers are the foundation of any society and models for creating an ideal community.

 

"As we celebrate World Teachers' Day globally, I want to appreciate all teachers for the special roles they play in our society. They not only build knowledge in children but also foster critical thinking, inspire students and parents, and contribute to nation-building," Egbo remarked.                     

 

"Without teachers, there would be no leaders. Teachers are indeed models for an ideal society."

 

The Chairman went on to highlight the importance of education in today's world, especially in countering the growing misconception that "school is a scam." 

 

He lauded teachers for their resilience, selflessness, and dedication in imparting knowledge, which helps to shape a brighter generation and change negative perceptions about education.

 

"Education is the bedrock of every society. Therefore, we must continue to inspire, promote, and encourage our children to take their education seriously. Education is a right, not a privilege, and as a government, we will continue to support and invest in the growth of education within Ughelli North," Egbo added.

 

As Ughelli North joins the global community in celebrating this year's World Teachers' Day, the Chairman, on behalf of the government and the entire citizens of Ughelli North LGA, offered prayers for teachers. 

 

"We pray that God Almighty continues to bless, inspire, protect, and promote all teachers in their daily activities."
