The Executive Chairman of Yonwuren and Agbeje Family Ruling Council of Ugbuwangue in Warri South Local Government , Prince Agindotan Yonwuren has refuted media report that the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II, dissolved the Family Ruling Council , stressing that there is nothing like Ugbuwangue Community Ruling Council as published in the report by the authors whom he accused of “ openly displaying their ignorance of leadership structure in the community”.
Prince Agindotan Yonwuren who is a direct descendant of Yonwuren , founder of Ugbuwangue and Agbeje made the clarification Saturday September 8 in Warri during a chat with newsmen.
According to him, the Olu of Warri only directed that all vacant positions in the family ruling council which was created as a result of deaths be reconstituted. Prince Yonwuren quipped that his leadership told the Warri monarch in a meeting he convened that those who informed him of their intention “to form a government has no right by birth to do so.”
He declared that before anyone can become a member of the Yonwuren and Agbeje Family Ruling Council, such “a person must be a principal member of the family by birth and more than 60 years of age”.
While noting that the position of Olori-Ebi “is a compound issue and has nothing to do with the community”, Prince Yonwuren challenged anyone who wants to publish anything about Ugbuwangue to “tell the public what their father’s lineage has done to develop the community”.
He added that his efforts to develop the community when he took over as chairman of the ruling council after “meeting nothing on ground was threats by those who said nobody can develop the community”.
