Agbateyiniro drops hint of plan to construct Island in Warri South

The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, Comr. Weyinmi Isaac Agbateyiniro, has dropped hint of plan to construct an Island in Warri South Local Government Area, saying the project would be a public/private partnership.

Comr. Agbateyiniro, made the disclosure in Warri, Monday October 21, during a media parley to kick-start a week-long celebration of his administration’s first 100 days in office.

He stated: “We will be replicating what we have as Banana Island in Lagos, here in Warri South. A lot of people have said it is not possible, let everybody stay one side and say it is not possible and allow us stay on the other side and say it is possible. The relevant Bill, will be sent to the Legislative Arm and a Bye law, will be passed to that effect.

“We have not only created an investment committee, but we have taken a step further, by creating Warri South Local Government Area Investment Project and Development Board. We will be creating an enabling environment for investors to come and invest here.”

The Warri South Council Boss, who enumerated the various human capital development, infrastructural and environmental sanitation projects of his administration within the first 100 days in office, said: “They will be farm estate in our riverine areas. Those that are in-charge of the Agricultural revolution, have been sent to training to gain experience.

“For security, we are planning to make sure that all hotels in Warri South Local Government Area, have CCTV cameras.

“First week of November, we are flagging off operation keep Warri South clean programme.”

The Vice Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Hon. Kingsley Edafiadjebre, who oversees Works department, Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon. Joy Ejumudo, Supervisors of the Council in-charge of Environment, Human Capital Development, Agriculture, Health as well as Innovation/ Sports Development and the Chairman, Warri Brand Committee, Dr, Mavis Onojeghwo, had encapsulated achievements of the Agbateyiniro administration in their various departments/committee, within the first 100 days.
