The Sole Representative of Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III to NNPCL/ JV Partners, Prince Collins Oritsetimeyin Edema, has announced the suspension of Madangho Community, from the ongoing Itsekiri Empowerment Programme.
In a terse statement released this evening, Prince Edema, noted that the suspension will be lifted at discretion of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III.
Though no reason was adduced for the suspension, Fresh Angle International had earlier in the week sighted a document showing the names of several persons, purportedly appearing more than once on the empowerment list.
Duplicity of the said names, seemed to have deprived potential beneficiaries from other communities and groups.
The monthly empowerment scheme, believed to have more than 3,000 beneficiaries, grants each beneficiary not less than fifty thousand naira monthly.
Exposure of the names of some persons, which appeared more than once on the payment schedule, has generated mixed reactions amongst Itsekiris in the last 48 hours, with some querying the rationale behind exposing the names on social media spaces.
