Churches and other faith - based organisations, have been granted exemption as the Local Government Councils in Delta State, through the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, authorize Kenneth George and Hon. Peter Eyen to print and manage all mobile stickers and emblem permits across the 25 local government areas in the state for the year 2025.
In the approval, the aforesaid persons, were told to:" Print and manage waste sanitation basket permit, motor park permit, loading and offloading permit, mobile sales/ supply distribution permit fees, liquor permit and all other mobile stickers and emblem permits that falls within jurisdiction of the local government councils by the 1999 constitution as amended by the levies and taxes act."
In the approval correspondence signed by its Chairman and Secretary, Hon. Isaiah Esiovwa and Hon. Andaye Digidi, respectively, assured that the local government councils chairmen will create enabling environment for the firm to" work with persons recommended as Supervisors / Sub Chairman, to sell and carry out enforcement of penalties against defaulters for each local government council."
He added: " In a related development, Delta State Signage and Advertisement Agency, DESAA, has commissioned Gehobless Nigeria Enterprises, to collect the year 2025 Signage/ Mobile Sales/ Advert complete sets of operational permits across the state.
The agency, in the approval communicated to the Managing Director of Gehobless Nigeria Enterprises, advised the company to work closely with security agencies for orderliness.
Whilst stressing the need for Gehobless Nigeria Enterprises to conduct the exercise with utmost civility " without infringing on defaulters fundamental human rights."
DESAA in the approval signed by its Functioning Managing Director/ CEO, Komani Martins O., warned : " It should be seriously noted that the rights under this approval, are not property rights and therefore, you can not transfer to another party or encumber them in anyway. "
Please also note that advert levies, are not to be collected from churches and other religious bodies."
