A leading contender to the position of Itsekiri National Youths Council, INYC, Comr. Destiny Tuoma Noritsegho, says he wants to show the world the Itsekiriness in him, with a view to take Itsekiri Nation to enviable height.

Comr. Noritsegho, who described himself as someone who came from the family of Royalty Warriors, stated that it would get to a point where people will say “come and lead us”.

Speaking at Ugbori Community, Warri, Sunday December 15, during unveiling of his Remould Agenda, the INYC Presidential hopeful, averred: “I have something I think the world has not yet seen and that is the Itsekiriness in me. Someone asked me last week what qualifies me for this position, and I said it is the Itsekiriness in me.

“God willing, we will get to this point where people will say come and lead us. We will take Itsekiri to the level every other nationality, tribe will be envious like they use to. We will do our best to make sure we go back to what we use to be.

A REASONED CHARTER OF ENGAGEMENT BY COMR. DESTINY TUOMA NORITSEGHO, ASPIRANT TO THE EXALTED LEADERSHIPOF THE ITSEKIRI NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL, INYC – MANIFESTO OF TRANSFORMATION AND “REMOULD.

Let me begin by appreciating the effort, charisma, and passion of our great, innovative and exemplary father and King, Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri, founding fathers and leaders in the Itsekiri National Youth Council, INYC struggle. Today, as we aim to elevate and transform the narrative surrounding of our beloved Itsekiri youths and communities, we are committed to shaping the landscape of tomorrow, starting from this moment

It is indeed a rare privilege to aspire to the exalted leadership of this great association of Itsekiri youth worldwide that is primus inter pares. For a start, it needs reiterating that the stability, unity, focus, tenacity of purpose and crave for justice and equity of this dynamic assemblage of Itsekiri’s human assets will either make or mar whatever laudable aspiration intended for it to take it to the next level, and I feel honoured to and well grounded to enter into the ring and advance my philosophical bent to redirect the course to an appreciable level.

In this wise, I am inspired by the principles encapsulated in the acronym “REMOULD.” Each element of REMOULD represents a specific goal, establishing a solid foundation for the future we aspire to build together.

Our manifesto is anchored in these core values, guiding us toward a long-term future filled with promise, progress, and purpose for our Itsekiri youths. I welcome accountability as we explore each of these guiding pillars and the vision they hold for our collective advancement as a nation:

1. REBRAND

The Itsekiri culture, heritage, and people are vibrant and resilient. We have always been trendsetters and pioneers in not a few areas at local and global levels. Through rebranding, I envision reshaping our public image to highlight our strengths and showcase our unique identity. Other ethnic groups will no longer view us as lawless or unruly. Instead, we will be recognized for our distinctiveness, development-mindedness, and authority, while displaying our immense strengths during challenging times.

Our rebranding agenda will also focus on increasing global awareness of our heritage, celebrating our successes, and crafting a strong, positive narrative that inspires confidence within our community and admiration beyond. We will establish a day to honour both our fallen and current heroes who have defended and liberated our nation in the past.

Our goal is to revitalize the INYC by infusing it with fresh perspectives, and embracing modernity while honoring tradition. Through innovative strategies, digital transformation, and inclusive branding, we aspire to redefine the INYC's role as a beacon of hope and progress for Itsekiri youth.

2. ELEVATION

Elevating our youth is central to our mission. We must raise the standard of living for our youths by improving educational standards, promoting hard and soft skills acquisition, providing entrepreneurship programs for capacity building, and offering more opportunities for growth and career development. This involves advocating for better resources, support systems, and avenues that empower youth to reach their potential and contribute meaningfully to society.

We will no longer operate without proper data analysis. If elected into power, all Itsekiri youths will be captured in a centralized system that will help advance our development at every level, irrespective of their geographic location. We aim to create an environment where every Itsekiri youth can aspire to achieve great things without limitations. Our youths should consistently see the bright possibility of realizing their dreams through the support of the INYC.

3. MOTIVATION

We intend to be the driving force behind the aspirations of our fellow Itsekiri youth. By establishing leadership and mentorship programs, organizing motivational events, seminars, and regular congresses, and providing resources for personal and professional growth, we will inspire and empower our community to strive for excellence. While we recognize that diversity is a strength, as a council, we also aim to tap into various sources of inspiration and ideas. By embracing motivation, we commit to encouraging different viewpoints, fostering collaboration across sectors, and driving innovation that reflects the richness of our Itsekiri heritage while adapting to the dynamism of the world.

4. ORIENTATION

Knowledge is power. Through comprehensive orientation, we will equip our youth with the insights and skills needed to make informed decisions and navigate today’s challenges. Through mentorship programs, leadership training, and community workshops, we will instill values, ethics, and a strong sense of purpose that will guide our actions and decisions as a council and as Itsekiri youths. Emphasizing cultural preservation and civic responsibility, we will nurture a strong sense of identity and purpose within our youth.

It will also be incumbent on us as a socio-cultural body to guide our youth on our pristine irreducible cultural and traditional mores and values that distinguish us out as a civilized ethnic group within the Nigerian federation.

5. UNITY

Unity is our strength. Our community is strongest when we stand together. By fostering solidarity among us as youth, we can address common challenges and celebrate our shared goals. We will ensure a better representation of our image on social media, countering the negative portrayals that some unscrupulous individuals create. We must strive to bridge divides, promote inclusivity, and ensure that every Itsekiri youth feels represented, respected, and valued.

We will always advocate for the unification of all Itsekiri youth, regardless of background or belief. We will foster a spirit of togetherness that transcends our differences, building a cohesive community dedicated to collective purpose and prosperity.

6. LIBERATION

True liberation is the freedom to express, grow, and thrive. We aim to address all internal and external barriers—whether social, economic, or political—that impede the progress of our youth. We will advocate for equal opportunities, challenge injustices, and champion the rights of every Itsekiri youth.

7.DEVELOPMENT

Development is essential for the future of our community. By focusing on sustainable projects and initiatives, we will work to improve infrastructure and enhance the safety of our communities. This pillar of development ensures that our Itsekiri youth have the resources they need to lead productive and fulfilling lives both within our homeland and beyond.

We are committed to implementing programs and ideas that foster the comprehensive development of eachcommunity, showcasing our creative and artisanal talents. We aspire to present ourselves to the world as a culturally developed people. While the Itsekiri nation is known for crude oil, we can also be recognized for our technological innovations, becoming a source of talent in STEM, the arts, sports, and business. Therefore, we will focus on creating systems that encourage holistic development from the grassroots level.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, these principles form a vision rooted in empowerment, unity, and progress. With your support, we can reshape the future of Itsekiri youth and build a legacy that honors our past, serves our present, and inspires future generations.

If we are privileged to enjoy your massive and progressive support to mount the leadership of our great youth body, you can rest assured that a competent, fully ready, goal-getting, undeniably committed and accessible comrade in service to fatherland is set to hit the ground running. A new phase is about to break forth. Let us do this and run this course together for the pride of Ale Iwere!

Thank you all for listening!

God bless Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR, the Olu of Warri!

God bless the Warri Kingdom!!

God bless the INYC!!!
