Barrister Ariyo vows to continue the struggle to ensure that the party leadership obeys the Constitution of the Party particularly Article 21 (D) (v) which the currents State Executive Committee has violated.
He insists that no one in the party is bigger than its constitution. And the only way to negotiate constitutional provisions is to amend them to suit your peculiarity not to subvert them.
Barrister Ariyo says that even if he remains alone in the struggle, with the Constitution on his side, he is majority.
The All Progressives Congress APC-led government of President Muhammadu Buhari was elected on the strength of adherence to the rule of law and renunciation of impunity in any form.
Unfortunately, with the APC Delta State experience, I can confidently say that it is the direct opposite of these values.
The Chapter has become one in which every rule, regulation and constitutional provision is negotiated on the altar of “man know man”.
If APC Delta State is not comfortable with the provisions of the party's constitution, it should make moves to amend it or go and form another party.
One thing for sure; as long as the Chapter remains part of the APC, it must obey its Constitution. Nothing will ever stop the struggle to ensure this!
