A gang of three heavily armed masked men on Thursday afternoon (March 23) attacked a popular juju priest in Warri, Delta State, carting away his N1.2m cash, Our Roving Correspondent reports.
The Chief Priest and worshipper of the Ologbodu Diety popularly known as Victor Fregene was on his way from a new generation bank along the ever busy Ogunu road in Warri where he went to withdraw the cash to commence preparation for burial ceremonies of his late parents at Sapele in Sapele Local Government Area of the State when hebwas trailed and attacked at the Ekurede Itsekiri Road opposite the Catholic Church.
According to eyewitness account, the robbers who drove in a Toyota Camry accosted the Chief Priest and shot the left front tyre of his own Black Color Toyota Camry and the left side mirror, before ordering him to disembark and open his car booth where the money was kept.
The Chief Priest who was said to be all smiles at the unfolding drama was also said not to have resisted, but simply opened his doors, came down, opened the booth for them to collect the cash and zoomed off.
