Sole Representative of The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III to NNPCL and its JVs, Prince Edema Collins Oritsetimeyin, has disclosed plans by the Warri Monarch to gift bursary to 1,500 students of Itsekiri extraction in tertiary institutions across the country.                                              

 

Prince Edema, who made the disclosure in Warri, Delta State, Sunday February 2, during an enlarged emergency meeting of Itsekiri social/ pressure groups, media platforms, human rights activists and content creators, cautioned Itsekiris against social media texts and audio/ visuals that tend to denigrate the reverred throne of Warri Kingdom.

Whilst noting that derogatory contents on social media platforms were counter productive to the collective interest and identity of Itsekiri Nation, Edema, explained that the planned bursary, will be for students in 200 level, with G.P of 2.5 upwards.                                 

 

The immediate past President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, Comrade Ben Eburajolo, who spoke at the gathering, appealed to any Itsekiri who's aggrieved at any point in time to settle their differences without social media posts.

According to Eburajolo, negative comments/ contents against someone on social media, can deny such person visa from foreign embassies.
