Azinge commends Oseme for providing staff clinic to council workers

The Commissioner for Health Delta State, Dr. Nicholas Azinge has commended the Chairman Aniocha North Local Government Area, Hon. Chuks Oseme for providing staff clinic to the council workers in the council secretariat.

Dr. Azinge gave the commendation during the commissioning of the staff clinic at the council secretariat in Issele-Uku, the Aniocha North Local Government Area headquarters. 

The Commissioner who express joy for the project, said improve health care service is one of the cardinal points of Okowa's SMART agenda, adding, “the clinic is well equipped, it has mini- laboratory, it has pharmacy with drugs,  consulting rooms and the waiting room in case of serious case before transferring to the big health care centre. And their blood pressure equipment is good, I just check my blood pressure today, my weight, so it is a very good project.” I advice all the staff of the local government to make use of the opportunity for their check up even though they are not sick especially those that are above forty years old. Today we are here to witness the commissioning of staff clinic, this is a noble project that is worthy of emulation and to be appreciated because not all local government at this time of recession that can create or put this type of project in place”.

In his address, the Chairman of Aniocha North LGA, Hon. Chuks Oseme said health of the workers is of priority to him, saying that health is wealth.The clinic would help employees stay healthy by offering on-site preventive test and screening, thus, encourage healthful habits.

Oseme noted that the clinic was aimed to function as the employee's primary-care provider, and it would supplement rather than replace the employee's doctors.

The Chairman who assured the staff of the sustainability of the clinic, noted that he has taken proactive measure in setting-up an accountability mechanism to ensure that the clinic remain functional in spite of the economic recession facing local governments.

"We have taken proactive measures to ensure that this clinic remain functional as the Department continues to lead the way in innovations and to providing basic healthcare services for the Local Government workforce" he assured.

He stressed that healthcare service was one of the key points of SMART agenda of Okowa's administration, maintaining that, “I was very smart to key in, just like tapping into your father's dream, Governor Okowa is a father and he wishes a good healthcare service to all Delta.”
