Warri South Council to commence mega farm project in Orere-Uluba before February ending

Warri South Local Government Council, have finalized arrangements to commence the construction of a mega farm project in the riverine community of Orere-Oluba, Fresh Angle International, can report.

This much, was disclosed Friday February 07 by Warri South Council Supervisor for Agriculture, Hon. Mofe Amiwe at the end of the first exco meeting of the Council for 2025.

 

Hon. Amiwe, told newsmen that the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, has approved the statutory two percent for Agriculture, for commencement of the multifaceted farm project.

According to him, the project which will be executed in over 10 acres of land, will encompass the cultivation of cassava, tomatoes, pepper, vegetable of different kinds, yam as well as livestock.

Warri South Council Supervisor for Human Capital Development, Mrs. Misan Eke, who also addressed newsmen at the end of the meeting, disclosed that the Agbateyiniro administration, recently paid for the examination fees of primary six pupils across the 37 public schools across the Warri South Local Government, preparing for their first school leaving certificate examination later in the year.

Whilst adding that the Agbateyiniro administration has enrolled students for the forthcoming JAMB, with a view to doing same for students preparing for NECO/SSCE this year, Mrs. Eke, disclosed plans to empower 567 persons that participated in an online training last year and additional 150 youths profiled in skill acquisition.

The Supervisor for Health, Hon. Ese Gift Deduwa, on his part, reiterated the Council’s opening of dedicated emergency line and ambulance, to attend to emergency cases and referring same to the Central Hospital, Warri, whenever the need arises.

He noted that the Council Boss, has assured that all primary health care centres in the local government area, will experience infrastructural facelift with basic medical facilities.

The Council’s Supervisor for Environment, Hon. Femi Okorodiden, assured of continued parking of drains and approved refuse dumps, saying tippers and personnel have been mobilized for the purpose, even as the Head of Environment Department, Mrs. Stella Mode, revealed that Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, has permitted the purchase of operational vehicles for the environment department of Warri South Council.

The Supervisor for Innovation and Sports, Chief Butler Igbigibi, revealed that the Council Boss, has approved the sum of One Hundred Thousand (N100,000.00) Naira each, to be given to the three coordinators and 26 pupils of Ighogbadu Primary School, Warri that won sports competition in the state, totalling two million, nine hundred thousand naira (N2.9 million).

Chief Igbigbi, stated that Exco also approved textbooks to be distributed to pupils across the public primary schools in Warri South.

The Head of Works Department in Warri South Local Government Council, Engr. Tetsola Tuoyo Greggory, assured that the 60meter bridge across the Ifie river and other infrastructural projects being embarked upon by the Agbateyiniro administration, will be completed timeously.
