Ofuyaekpone to Oborevwori: 84 percent of PDP Leaders of Itsekiri extraction that endorsed you, can’t deliver their units

A former Ward Coordinator of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Warri South Local Government Area as well as former Legislative Assistant and ex - Personal Assistant to Hon. Daniel Reyenieju, Comrade Tuoyo Ofuyaekpone, has advised Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to disregard his recent endorsement for second term by Itsekiri leaders in PDP, saying: “84% of these individuals who endorsed you (Governor Oborevwori) on behalf of the Itsekiri, cannot deliver their units, let alone their wards.”

Ofuyaekpone, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, stated that the voices of the masses, who are the electorates, were not represented in the reported endorsement.

In a statement made available to Fresh Angle International, Wednesday night, Ofuyaekpone, averred inter-alia: “Ordinarily, I won't have concern myself with political development in the PDP, since I have jettisoned the party for the APC, while I'm not a PDP member, I'm an Itsekiri and Okpe man so the endorsement has a bearing on me.

“Can a man give, what he does not have?

“Electorates will decide when the time comes. I have looked at the persons that went to this dramatic endorsement and found that 98 percent of them are elders, above 54years of age, leaving behind the mass of the people who vote.

“They lack the requisite political clout and infrastructure to win elections. These individuals were thrust into leadership roles during an era when votes were disregarded. Mr. Governor, do not be misled; aside from a few streetlights and the failed stormwater project, Warri has not felt the impact of governance in the last decade.

“How can Hon. Uroye applaud your administration for neglecting Warri? Warri currently lacks a hospital worthy of its stature. The Central Hospital is an outdated relic and a symbol of colonial neglect.

“Mr. Governor, permit me to remind you that 70% of these individuals are contemplating defection to the progressive party. As professional politicians, they are prone to complaining if their interests are not catered for and you have failed to provide for them. Warri will not vote for a governor who has deliberately disregarded the wishes of the people in the local government council elections. Warri will reciprocate in kind.

“How can they claim leadership when they cannot reconcile their internal differences after the general elections and the recent LGA elections?

“Some of them don the royal regalia, but the truth is that the coral beads no longer command respect, due to their wickedness. If they were not wicked, why do they reserve every empowerment programme for their immediate family members or mistresses? None of these individuals can deliver their units.

“Their wickedness is exemplified by a former minister who collected Constituency Empowerment keke from Hon. Thomas Ereyitomi, only to abandon it in his compound for years, symbolizing the waste of democratic resources in Warri GRA Residence. What else epitomizes wickedness?

“These are the individuals who have endorsed you. Your Excellency. Mr. Governor, you are my brother, Omizu. I implore you to request Dr. Joseph Sisami Otumara to enumerate his accomplishments as leader of the Warri/Effurun Development Agency.

“Their sole feasible project is the failed drainage along the NPA expressway, which never functioned. The people of Warri are aggrieved and will not vote for you. This constitutes a waste of state resources. Omizu, I urge you to audit the agency to justify the allocations released. The three Warri people along with numerous aggrieved PDP members, will ensure that the PDP does not emerge victorious. Your Excellency, the PDP's loss to the APC in the last general elections, was attributable to leadership failure. I speak from experience, having served as a ward coordinator. When issues arose requiring prompt attention, I visited the Warri South Situation Room at Bridge View Hotel, accompanied by other ward leaders.

“Unfortunately, we found no one in attendance. I need not elaborate on the details, as I am now a member of the APC, and we are poised to emerge victorious in the next elections.

“The PDP leadership that sabotaged the party in 2023 will likely sabotage you as well, Your Excellency, I am also your brother from Omereje. Beware of sycophants.”
