Kogi Teachers Declare "No Vacancy in Lugard House" Till After 8 Years of Gov Ododo


Teachers in Kogi State under the umbrella of the Nigerian Union of Teachers have a declared a No Vacancy in Lugard House until after the 8 year of the purposeful and God fearing leadership of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo.
 
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the Teachers made the declaration at a press conference after a prayer session to mark the 2025 Solemn Assembly.
 
Addressing the media, Comr. Yakubu Dauda, Kogi State Chairman NUT, listed the administration of Gov Ododo as one that has been rewarding for Primary School Teachers in the State.
 
The Chairman mentioned that the administration has brought smiles to the faces of Primary School Teachers, praised Gov. Ododo's nomination of the immediate past State Chairman of NUT, Comrade Joel Salifu as Deputy Governor.
 
The NUT equally commended Gov Ododo for acceding to the age long demand of the union in the implementation of 100% minimum wage to Primary School Teachers in the basic Education sub sector and bringing them at par with workers in the State Civil Service.
 
Furthermore, the NUT expressed appreciation to the administration of Gov. Ododo for his approval to carry Teachers along in the SEVENTY TWO THOUSAND NAIRA minimum wage payment.
 
While disclosing that the State Primary School Teachers are immensely grateful to Gov. Ododo for the payment of it September 2020 Salary arrears, added that the up to date remittances of UBEC counterpart funds for the provision of infrastructure and instructional materials in the sub sector by Gov. Ododo remains unprecedented,.
 
The NUT Chairman said the prayer session known as Solemn Assembly is geared towards kick starting the new year by Primary School Teachers by thanking God and prayers for the Teacher’s messiah Governor, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo.
 
The NUT described Gov. Ododo as God sent, reiterated that  Primary School Teachers will remain eternally grateful and Loyal to the administration of Gov Ododo for his unprecedented kind consideration to  Primary School in the State.
 
The Kogi Teachers like Oliver Twist however requested the intervention of the present administration in the cash backing of promotion and incremental rates.
 
The NUT also appealed for the employment of Teachers to address the acute shortage of manpower as well as training and retraining of Teachers.
