Warri South Council grants approval to 91 revenue agents, says no conflict with revenue committee

Authorities of Warri South Local Government Council in Delta State, have granted approval to 91 agents to collect revenue on behalf of the Council for the year 2025.

Secretary to Warri South Local Government, Mr. Emmanuel Nunu, who made the disclosure in an interview Monday March 10, on behalf of the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comr. Agbateyiniro Weyimi Isaac, explained that the approval, was granted after thorough scrutiny of several prospective agents.

Whilst noting that the revenue agents would be supervised by the Warri South Council Revenue Committee, led by Comrade Ofoyeju Izuagie, the Warri South Council Scribe, averred: “Some of them (the revenue agents) are to cover the length and breadth of the local government, while some are placed in different zones.

“They will be given Award Letters and Identity Cards, if they come to collect revenue, they must show their award letter and identity, to make sure they are the authentic people the public is dealing with.  

“We will try our best to block all loopholes, to make sure nobody forges the award letter and identity card. If anyone is found guilty of forging the Identity card or award letter, the Council will hand over such person(s) to the security agencies.”

Mr. Nunu added: “The agents and the committee are two different statuses. From Tuesday March 11, the 91 agents can come to the Council to check their names on the notice board and thereafter collect Award letter and Identity Card from the Office of the Head of Personnel Management, HPM."
