Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, appears to have outwitted governors elected on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the Acting National Chairman of the Party, Amb. Umar Iliya Damagum and Wike’s preferred PDP National Secretary, Sen. Samuel N. Anyanwu, signed a letter introducing Ezenwafor Jude C, as the Peoples Democratic Party's Gubernatorial Candidate for the November 08, 2025 Anambra State Gubernatorial Election.
Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report that the letter was addressed to the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Recall that governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, recently appointed the Deputy National Secretary, Setonji Koshoedo, as the Acting National Secretary of the party.
The governors reportedly took the decision in an attempt to resolve the dispute between Senator Samuel Anyanwu and Sunday Ude-Okoye over the position of the National Secretary.
Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, announced this decision to journalists in a communique issued at the end of the governors meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State.
But a correspondent dated May 7 and addressed to the INEC Chairman, made nonsense of the PDP Governors’ Forum decision.
Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, who posted the correspondent on his X handle, Tuesday May 13, noted: “INEC received the letter yesterday. What now happened to their own Acting National Secretary? Isn’t Wike right again?”
The letter addressed to INEC, stated thus: “SUBMISSION OF NAMES OF CANDIDATE & PARTICULARS (FORMS; EC-9, EC-9B, EC-13B) FOR THE ANAMBRA STATE GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 08, 2025.
“We write to inform the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that EZENWAFOR JUDE C, is the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP's) Gubernatorial Candidate for the November 08, 2025 Anambra State Gubernatorial Election, having emerged winner of the Party's Gubernatorial Primary in ANAMBRA STATE monitored by the Commission.
Please be also informed that HON. OKEKE FRANCIS CHUKWUDI is Ezenwafor Jude's Running Mate.
“We hereby forward the Credentials/ Particulars: Forms EC-9, EC-9B and EC-13B, of both the candidate and running mate.
“Your cooperation in this regard will be highly appreciated.
“Kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter and accept the assurances of our highest esteem and regards.
