Three weeks after Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for the All Progressives Congress, APC and reportedly direct his appointees to go to their wards to register with the APC, APC Chairman of Ward 4 in Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Daniel Oyibo, says none of the PDP decampees, have come to register in the ward.
Fresh Angle International, understands that Ward 4 in Warri South Local Government Area, covers densely populated communities, such as Ekurede-Itsekiri, Ugbori and Ugbuwangue, with indications rife that there are serving political appointees of Governor Oborevwori from the area.
Oyibo, who was an APC Councillorship candidate in the last Delta State Local Government election, told This Newspaper, in an exclusive interview Thursday May 15, that the leadership of APC Ward 4, Warri South, had since created registration centres in Ugbuwangue and Ugbori.
According to him, the registration centres which opens 9am-4pm daily from Mondays through Saturdays, are alternated between the Town Hall in Ugbuwangue and Ogiame Primary School, during off-school days and hours.
He stated: “Registration is ongoing, today is at Ugbuwangue, tomorrow registration will be done at Ugbori. The registration started as soon as the governor defected. Since the defection, none of the decampees have come for registration. The registration is free.”
When asked if he was threatened by the expected registration of the PDP decampees, the APC Chieftain, averred: “I am not threatened, this is APC not SDP, we are welcoming them with open arms.”
