ANLCA National President, Applauds Port Harcourt Area 1 Leadership


The National President, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA, Mr. Emenike Nwokeoji, has applauded the Dr Emmanuel Okoh led leadership at ANLCA Area1 Port Harcourt Rivers state even as the Area Controller, Nigeria Customs Service Area 1 Command, Comptroller Mustapha Hashim said his command has made an impressive revenue generation for the year, collecting over N83B in four months of 2025.

 

 

 

This disclosure our correspondent reports, came on the heels of Onwokeoji 's madien visit to the newly inaugurated Executive of the ANLCA Port Harcourt Area 1 and a courtesy visit to the Command's Area Controller, Comptroller Mustapha Hashim last week. 

 

 

 

Speaking to ANLCA members Nwokeoji said, “The newly elected and sworn - in chairman of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA, Area 1 Chapter, Dr. Emmanuel Okoh, has started on a good note by reaffirming his campaign promise to build a befitting secretariat for the association with a personal donation of N5 Million naira to kick start the project."  

 

 

 

 Nwokeoji, described the gesture as a call to service and a commitment for growth and development of the association which he noted calls for commendation and encouragement from all members.

 

 

 

However, the ANLCA boss used the opportunity to appreciate Dr Okoh and members of his executive even as he urged all ANLCA members to give the new executive every necessary support and cooperation to carry out its duties in accordance with the association’s constitution.

 

 

 

In his remarks , the chairman of ANLCA, Area 1 chapter, Dr Emmanuel Okoh, said, ” We are committed to serve and change the narratives in Area 1, aimed to improve the lives and standard of living of our members”.

 

 

 

Dr. Okoh, added,”My executive is on a mission to reform and restore the values and integrity of members and the association with more interest to comply to national dues payments.”

 

 

 

He emphasized “Having worked in Area 1 chapter of ANLCA with keen interest and commitment over the years, my major drive is to build a beffiting Secretariat. To that effect am donating N5 Million for that purpose and will help to alleviate the standard of living of members with a workable insurance policy and programmes aimed to cushion the challenges of members”

 

 

 

Continuing, Okoh said, "my National president, we are here today for this occasion , but am promising you that by the time you visit us again, we will host you in our secretariat"

 

 

 

Reacting, the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, ANLCA, Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha, said, ” ANLCA have achieved stability and peaceful coexistence among members and we have resolved and committed to sustain and maintain it. ”

 

 

 

The ANLCA Zonal Coordinator East, Mr. Joshua Ahuama, commended Dr Okoh for what he viewed as a giant stride by kick starting the building project by his personal donation. He said all hands should be on deck to make sure a befitting secretariat is built for ANLCA Area1.

 

 

 

He also used the opportunity to thank the National president and his national executive for bringing peace to ANLCA.

 

 

 

Earlier in his remarks, the Customs Area Controller, CAC, Port Harcourt Area 1 Customs Command, Compt. Mustapha Hashim, has expressed his Command's willingness to encourage genuine and legitimate traders by facilitating their trade, while vowing to suppress the recalcitrant ones.

 

 

 

“The Nigeria Customs Service, Area 1 is ready to encourage and facilitate genuine import and export transactions in the value chain but the Command will not condone any action or inaction capable of undermining the fiscal policy of the federal government.”

 

 

 

Compt Hashim, who allayed fears of the ANLCA National President on the paucity of cargoe aircraft coming at the International Airport Omagwa, said his command is doing everything possible to collaborate with other relevant authorities to ensure an increase in cargo aircraft patronizing the Airport.

 

 

 

Compt Hashim, however used the opportunity to inform the ANLCA National President and his members of the achievements of his command so far.

 

 

 

“The Command has generated over N83 Billion so far with the cooperation of compliant import and export traders and we are optimistic to surpass our target for the year 2025”, Compt Hashim asserted.

 

 

 

The high point of the ceremony was an award of excellent relationship and good conduct conferred on the chairman, ANLCA Area 1 chapter, Dr.Emmanuel Okoh, by the national president.

 

 

 

Other Awardees include, Compt Mustapha Hashim, ANLCA National President, ANLCA BoT Chairman, Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha and Chief Ernest Elochukwu.

 

 

 

Other places visited by the National president include Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Omagwa, Ibeto Port and Terminal among others.
