Ward Delineation Controversy: Chairmen of Three Warri LGAs charge youths to maintain peace

Amid controversy surrounding the report released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC regarding ward and unit delineation in Warri Federal Constituency, the chairmen of Warri South, Warri South - West and Warri North Local Government Areas, have charged youths of Itsekiri, Ijaw and Urhobo extractions to maintain the existing peace in the constituency.

 

Fresh Angle International, understands that the chairmen, gave the charge Tuesday May 20, during a crucial stakeholders - meeting held at Governor's Office Annex, Edjeba in Warri. 

 

The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, his Warri South - West counterpart, Hon. Sylvester Oromoni and the Warri North Local Government Boss, Hon. Festus Ashima, stressed the need for youths of the three tribes to shun acts capable of causing crisis in Warri Federal Constituency. " Peace at all cost, is cheaper than war and we must be deliberate about preaching peace to our followers" Hon. Ashima, admonished.

The Warri Area Commander of Nigerian Police, Graham Imade, reiterated the imperative of maintaining law and order at all times, saying security agencies are on red alert to ensure peace and security is sustained in the area. 

 

Representatives of Itsekiri, Ijaw and Urhobo ethnic Nationalities that attended the parley, thanked the local government chairmen for their timely intervention, promising to drive the message of peace to the different communities in the constituency.
