I don't know what would have happened to me, if women of Omadino hadn't intervened - Yomere

Chief Priest of Omadino Federated Communities in Warri Federal Constituency, Roland Oti - Yomere, says he doesn't know what would have happened to him, if women of Omadino Community had not intervened when security men reportedly invaded the oil - rich Itsekiri community in the evening of Friday July 25.

Chief Priest Yomere, who spoke to Our Co Publisher/ Managing Editor Saturday July 26, after an extensive meeting with people of Omadino, said security men with three vans, stormed the community at about 4:30 pm on the fateful day and allegedly molested him, until the community women intervened. 

While linking the invasion to the controversy surrounding the ward and unit delineation report recently released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC as it relates to Warri Federal Constituency and the activities of a private pipeline surveillance company, Chief Priest Yomere, accused the Federal and Delta State governments as well as security agencies of ignoring petitions earlier written to them by Omadino people, regarding previous invasion of their land and purported land grabbing by the said private security firm. 

He asserted: We will not stop talking, we will keep talking until we get result. It is not for anybody, but we are for Ogiame Atuwatse III ( The Olu of Warri). We are for the interest of Itsekiris, we are protecting the interest of Itsekiri. " As I speak to you, the owners of Tantita, are in Aja - Jelebe community, Omadino land. They came to invade our property and banished our people from Aja - Jelebe Creek, yet no single response from governments, despite our outcry and petitions."
