The Chairman of Concerned Niger Delta Youths For Development, CNDYFD, Doutimi Amos, has highlighted the critical roles Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited, PINL, is playing in securing the Trans _ Forcados Pipeline and other designated areas across the Niger Delta, saying protests against the company, are handiwork of blackmailers.
Doutimi Amos, in a letter addressed to the Group Managing Director, NNPCL and made available to Fresh Angle International Monday, stated that PINL, has reduced crime in communities across the Niger Delta.
The letter, noted inter - alia: " We want to thank Mr President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the commitment in ensuring peace, unity and development in the niger delta states through the pipeline security contract, These has really reduced crime in our various communities in the Niger Delta at large.
"We want to use this medium to also inform you that the concerned Niger Delta Youths for Development (CNDYFD) are satisfied with the services provided by the PINL security company, chaired by the Olu of Warri Kingdom, for securing the Trans_Forcados Pipeline and all other designated areas across the Niger Delta.
"We are pleased to report that since PINL was awarded the pipeline security contract, they have performed exceptionally well. There have been few, if any, incidents of oil theft, has they have actively engaged with our youths in the areas
"PINL has ensured that the pipeline is secure and not tampered with, giving us no reason to consider arming national assets. Their services have been effective, and they have provided us with significant support, including community development, social amenities, healthcare, job opportunities, and employment with a competitive salary structure.
"We are very satisfied with their performance and are calling on NNPCL, NSA, and all relevant agencies to recognize that the protests and attacks against PINL are merely acts of blackmail, fueled by individuals who lack merit in their own services. These individuals are attempting to discredit PINL in an effort to secure the pipeline security contract for themselves by spreading falsehoods about a company that has built up its integrity over the years.
"We want to emphasize that, for the safety of the pipelines, national assets, and the benefits we derive from this contract, it is crucial that those spreading misinforming the general public should be disregarded. They are merely using social media to disseminate false information.
"We demand that the PINL company be allowed to continue their pipeline security work along the Trans_ Forcados pipeline and in all other areas they cover, as they are diligently safeguarding Nigeria's oil-rich assets, and their performance is exceptional."
