Omadino/Escravos Road project takes centre stage as Oborevwori, Minister pledge commitment

The proposed aged-long Omadino/Escravos Road, expected to connect Warri South and Warri South-West Local Government Areas of Delta State, dominated discourse Friday October 17, during the commissioning of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC Model State Office in Warri, as Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the Minister, Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, pledged commitment to ensure that the project becomes a reality.

 

 

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, who reportedly described Federal Roads in Delta State as a nightmare, promised that his administration will commence construction work on the much talked about Omadino/Escravos Road and commended the Managing Director of NDDC, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, for completing the NDDC Model office in Warri, with State-of-the-art facilities.

The Minister, Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, in his remarks, assured that construction work on the Escravos/Omadino Road, would commence as soon as President Tinubu grants approval.

Engr. Momoh, enjoined staffers of NDDC in the Warri Office, to ensure that facilities in the newly commissioned office, are not vandalized, but put into good use. 

The Chairman, NDDC Governing Board, Chiedu Ebie Esq, on behalf of the Board, solicited the partnership of Governor Oborevwori led Delta State Government, in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people, in-line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He appealed to Governor Oborevwori, to consider the Omadino/Escravos Road, which he said is a priority to people of the area. 

The Managing Director/CEO, NDDC, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, stated that President Tinubu, has funded the NDDC more than any other President in Nigeria, saying under the Tinubu administration, NDDC does not abandon projects.

Ogbuku said, the Commission was partnering Niger Delta Governors to deliver people-driven projects on time. 

Fresh Angle International, understands that the multi-billion-naira Omadino/Escravos Road, is intended to be a partnership project between NDDC and Chevron Nigeria Limited, with the latter yet to reportedly make firm commitment towards the project take-off.
