Tidi's appointment as Delta State PDP scribe, triggers reaction from stakeholders

The appointment of former Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi as Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party Caretaker Committee for Delta State, by the Tanimu Turaki led NWC of PDP, has elicited positive reaction from key stakeholders of the party.                                                      

Leading pressure group in PDP, Delta South PDP Stakeholders, DSPDPS, while reacting to the development Friday night, described  Dr. Tidi's appointment as placing a square peg in a square hole.                            

According to the group, Dr. Tidi's experience as  former Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, vast academic credentials, devotion to the founding principles of PDP as well as his flourishing legal practice, would come handy in the quest to rebuild the party in Delta State.                                

DSPDPS, in a statement signed by Sir Emmanuel Abigor, Hon. Ogbitse Osanwere, Hon. Kelly Eburu and Dcn. Ejiro Ibuakevwe, noted that the youthful energy of Dr. Tidi and his deep understanding of grassroots politics, are critical elements urgently needed to positively redirect the course of PDP in Delta State and the country as a whole.                                          

They commended Elder Emmanuel Ogidi for his leadership, pledging their commitment to mobilise old and new members of the party, to ensure PDP reclaims Delta State Government House come 2027.                                                

The National Organising Secretary of the Turaki led National Working Committee, NWC, Hon. Theophilus Dakas Shan, had in a statement released earlier Friday, constituted Caretaker Committee for Delta State, with Prof. Sylvester Monye as Chairman and a couple of other prominent members of the party in the state as members.
