15 councillors notify Delta Speaker of intent to impeach Bomadi LGA Chairman

15 Councillors of Bomadi Local Government Legislative Arm, have written the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, notifying the Speaker of their intent to impeach the Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Area, Hon. Dagidi Andaye, over alleged gross misconduct, abuse of office and misappropriation of funds.

 

The Local Government lawmakers; Hon. Peres Alari, Hon. Barbar Harris, Hon. Muturu Justice Ebimene, Hon. Ebi Nanakumo, Hon. Bariki Godsday Desmond, Hon. Edougha Felix, Hon. Isaiah Selekekeme Emmanuel, Hon. Komuko Pius, Hon. David Amabiri, Hon. Egbebo Rofina Tamaraudebaemi, Hon. Musa Rita, Hon. Thank God E. Tiriki, Hon. Forcados Segun Olobio, Hon. Coleman Donobebe Dennis and Hon. Massah Austin, in the letter dated January 5, 2026, accused the Local Government Boss, of exhibiting acts of gross misconduct in the performance of the functions, “forging Councillors signatures to fraudulently obtaining a loan of N800,000,000:00 (Eight Hundred Million) Naira from Zenith Bank, without the approval of the legislative House; high-handedness in the administration of Council; using the local government vigilantes and thugs to be intimidating citizens and Councillors in the business of the legislative house, by locking up the legislative chambers; using his office to appoints aid not known to law and using council fund to secretly pay them” and “awarding contracts not budgeted for without legislative approve and diverting jobs to himself.”

The notification, which copied the Chairman, Bomadi Local Government Area,

Hon. Dagidi Andaye and the Member Representing, Bomadi Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Engr.) Oboro Preyor, alleged that Hon. Andaye had committed acts, “which are in breach of his oath of office and Section 31(1) of the Delta State Local Government law which states that: A Chairman or Vice Chairman may be removed from office for misconduct or any breach of the following:

a) declaration of asset and or liabilities

b) any provision of this law and

3) Oath of Allegiance or Oath of Office."
