Major disagreement appears to have broken out in Madangho Ward 7, Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, as card carrying members and leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have petitioned the APC LGA Executive Committee of Warri South West Local Government Area, accusing the outgoing ward chairman, Mr. Roland Osangbajumi, of attempt to foist himself for a third term against Article 17 of the party’s constitution.
The leaders; Mr. Timeyin Madamedon, Tola John, Engr. Abeson Henry, Peter Omagbemi, and Bawo Madamedon, in the petition dated February 14, 2026, stated that Mr. Roland Osangbajumi has served two consecutive terms (8 years) as Ward Chairman, hence, he is constitutionally barred from contesting or holding the same office for a third term.
According to them, Mr. Osangbajumi, convened a meeting at his private residence and unilaterally announced that the Ward Executive Committee (Exco) list had been arranged and finalized, “without a democratic congress or consensus.”
The petitioners, who copied the Member Representing Warri Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, APC Chieftain and Leader, Warri South-West L.G.A, Chief Ayirimi Emami, Delta South APC Senatorial Chairman, Hon. Austin Oribioye and APC Chieftain and Leader, Warri South-West L.G.A, Mr. Alex Eyengho, demanded immediate nullification of any "list" generated by Mr. Roland Osangbajumi outside a formal Ward Congress.
The petition, which was written through Dennis Abugewa Mene Esq. MPA, MSC., MNIM, ACARB (for Dennis Mene Legal and Co. Mene-Okotie Chambers) reads inter-alia: “We act on behalf of Mr. Timeyin Madamedon, Tola John, Engr. Abeson Henry, Peter Omagbemi, and Bawo Madamedon, who are card carrying members and leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Madangho Ward 7, Warri South West Local Government Area and it is on their firm instructions that we write this petition.
“1. Statement of Facts
We were informed that on February 2, 2026, the Madangho Ward 7 Chairman, Mr. Roland Osangbajumi, convened a meeting at his private residence. During this meeting, the Chairman unilaterally announced that the Ward Executive Committee (Exco) list had already been arranged and finalized without a democratic congress or consensus.
“Furthermore, he summarily informed one Mr. Timeyin Madamedon, that he had been assigned the role of Vice Chairman, a position Mr. Madamedon immediately and categorically rejected, insisting on a transparent electoral process. As of the date of this petition, Mr. Osangbajumi has refused to release the purported list to the general party membership.
“2. Constitutional Infractions We wish to draw your attention to the gross violations of the APC Constitution perpetrated by Mr. Roland Osangbajumi:
a. Violation of Article 17 (Tenure of Office): Mr. Osangbajumi has served two consecutive terms (8 years) as Ward Chairman. Under Article 17, he is constitutionally barred from contesting or holding the same office for a third term. His attempt to orchestrate a new Exco while remaining at the helm is an illegality.
b. Violation of Article 21 (vii): His actions to impose himself constitute "breaking of the party's constitution," specifically by bypassing the democratic guidelines for electing party officers.
c. Violation of Article 21 (ix): By unilaterally "arranging" an Exco list in his house, he is engaged in "factions or creating parallel party organs," which undermines the party's unity.
d. Violation of Article 21 (xi): This conduct amounts to "anti-party activities" by disenfranchising loyal party members and bringing the party’s internal democratic image into disrepute.
“3. Our Prayers In light of the above, we hereby demand:
1. The immediate nullification of any "list" generated by Mr. Roland Osangbajumi outside a formal Ward Congress.
2. Enforcement of Tenure Limits: That the party leadership formally disqualifies Mr. Osangbajumi from holding the office of Ward Chairman for a third term, in strict adherence to Article 17.
3. The conduct of a transparent, inclusive, and democratic process for the emergence of Ward 7 Executives, in line with the APC Constitution.
“The All Progressives Congress is built on the rule of law. We trust that you will use your good office to intervene and prevent this attempt to hijack the party structure in Madangho Ward 7.”
