Efele Empowers Delta South Indigenes

The Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, DESOPADEC, Pst. Efele Eyewuoma Nicholas has powered some Indigenes of Delta South Senatorial District.

The event titled, "Empowering Our People for More Followership" saw 100 people from Itsekiri, Ijaw and Isoko ethnic nationalities, going home with cheque of fifty thousand naira each.

The ceremony held March 14 at the residence of a former DESOPADEC Chairman, Hon. Michael Diden in Koko .

In attendance were many political faithful from various political wards in the three nations that constitute Delta South Senatorial Constituency.

Emphasizing that there was need to support party members at the grassroot so that they can continue to be reliable followers, Pst. Efele said the objective of the concept is centered around the fact that Followership is a project that needs attention so much so that party members who constitute the Followership should be empowered.

Advising the beneficiaries of the empowerment to judiciously use the money they have received, he admonished party members who are materially well-off to endeavour to identify and support members of the party who are materially disadvantaged just as he advised party members to continue to support the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State and ensure that they were voted back into power come 2027 general elections.

Also speaking, Hon. Micheal Diden described the empowerment event as an appreciative programme in the sense that Pst. Efele is an individual who appreciates the fact that it was his political leaders who nominated him for the political office that he occupies today and in appreciation, decided to empower some members of the party as a way of also saying thank you to everyone. Praising the wonderful initiative of Pst. Efele, he used the occasion to present himself as a candidate who will vie for the Delta South Senatorial position into the National assembly in the coming 2027 election.

The Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Omatseye Akatakpo, a former APC party Chairman in Warri North in his speech, praised Pst. Efele for deeming it fit to put in place such a laudable concept geared towards empowering some grassroot members of the party and encouraged the beneficiaries to use the empowerment to better themselves.

Some party leaders who had the privilege to speak at the occasion were full of praises for the selflessness and compassionate initiative of Pst. Efele while describing the programme as a very laudable one.

Amongst those present at the event were the Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Hon. Festus Ani Ashima and many prominent APC members and party faithful from across Delta South Senatorial District.
